Home Fire Safety Visits – Free and Potentially Life-Saving

.png)
We are proud to be working in partnership with Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to offer free Home Fire Safety Visits to the elderly and vulnerable people we support.
These visits are completely free and could make the difference between life and death in the event of a fire.
Many of the people we help live alone, have limited mobility, memory loss, or health conditions, all of which increase fire risk. That is why this service is so vital.

What Is a Home Fire Safety Visit?
During a visit, a fire safety professional will:
-
Check your smoke alarms and install new ones if needed
-
Identify potential fire hazards (like blocked exits or clutter)
-
Provide fire safety advice tailored to your home and lifestyle
-
Offer free safety equipment where necessary
-
Ensure you and your home are better protected in case of fire
Visits are friendly, respectful, and completely free of charge.
Are You or Someone You Know at Risk?
These visits are especially recommended if you or someone in your household meets any of the following 8 risk factors:
-
Mental Health (Including memory loss)
-
Poor Housekeeping (clutter/hoarding/blocked exits)
-
Alcohol

Smoking
-
Drugs (Illegal/Prescription)
